With respect to the fact that molded pulp products are made by means of pressing paper pulp, molds for production of these packets must be made. Depending on the complexity and requirements for the given packet we use three types of molds (but not all of them have to be used):
- Shaping mold – this mold is used for the first production step and creates the basic shape of the product. Materials used for these molds are aluminium alloys combined with stainless elements.
- Hot pressing – this is the second step of the production process. During this repressing process the surface is shaped accurately and smoothed out. Materials used for these molds are aluminium alloys.
- Edge cutting – this is the last step of the production process. When using molds made of hardened steel all edges and frays made during molding are cut off. Thanks to this fact packets made of molded pulp are absolutely accurate. These molds can also be used for cutting out various holes in molded pulp.
